US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 Gentlemen Special Report Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) 3.7.9 of the Trojan Technical Specifications requires the submittal of a Special Report if a 3-hour fire barrier is nonfunctional for greater than 7 days. On April 8, 1987, door #126 was determined to be nonfunctional for greater than 7 days.

During a routine inspection, door #126, which separates the electrical penetration fire area (E-1) and the turbine building fire area (T-1), was discovered to have 'a deficient latching mechanism and was not rated as a 3-hour door. Compensatory measures described in Technical Specification 3.7.9 were fulfilled on April 8, 1987.

The estimated completion date for repair and return to service is May 1, 1987.
