Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) 3.7.9 of the Trojan d i
l Technical Specifications requires the submittal of a Special Report if a 3-hour fire barrier is nonfunctional for greater than seven days.
During a routine inspection on October 5, 1987, two fire barriers for the emergency diesel generator (EDG) exhaust stack penetrations in the west EDG room roof were found to be nonfunctional.
In addition, during an inspection on October 6, 1987, four fire barriers for the EDG exhaust stack penetrations in the east EDG room (east wall) were found to be nonfunctional.
Since it is not known exactly when these penetrations became nonfunctional, it is. assumed they were nonfunctional for greater than seven days.
Compensatory measures described in Technical Specification 3.7.9 were fulfilled (hourly fire patrol established'and verification of smoke detector operability) on October 5, 1987 for the west EDG room and October 6, 1987 for the east EDG room.
The estimated completion date for repair and return to service is November 1, 1987.
