SUMMARY

OF APRIL 19, 2007, CLARIFICATION PHONE CALL REGARDING PILOT PLANT (SHEARON HARRIS) TRANSITION TO NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION STANDARD 805 On April 19, 2007, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff from Headquarters and Region II participated in a teleconference with Progress Energy's National Fire Protection Association Standard 805 (NFPA 805) transition team regarding Shearon Harriss transition to the Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50.48(c) (10 CFR 50.48(c)) licensing basis.

The subjects of the discussion were the analyses and supporting procedures for performing fire safe shutdown analyses, circuit analysis, and NFPA 805 Chapter 4 Fire Area transitions.

Progress Energy recorded the NRC comments, answered those that they could, and are retaining the rest for subsequent disposition. The NRC staff comments are available in Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at accession numbers ML071420431, ML071420444, and ML071430470. The remaining comments resolutions will be discussed at the next observation visit.

The publically available documents discussed in the teleconference are available in ADAMS at ML071210335, ML071210337, ML071210341, ML071210344, and ML071210353. Two other documents are being withheld from public availability under 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) as Sensitive, Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information: ML071210355 and ML071380241.
