- 2023 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING REGARDING CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION DOCKET NOS. 05000413 AND 05000414; MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION NOS. 05000369 AND 05000370; OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION NOS.
05000269, 05000270, AND 05000287; BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT NOS. 05000324 AND 05000325; SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT NO. 05000400; H.B. ROBINSON STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT NO. 05000261 On April 23, 2024, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a virtual public meeting concerning the annual assessment of Catawba Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, Oconee Nuclear Station Units 1, 2, and 3, Brunswick Steam Electric Plant Units 1 and 2, Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant Unit 1, and H.B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Unit 2. The purpose of the virtual meeting was to provide opportunities to discuss the annual assessment of Catawba, McGuire, Oconee, Brunswick, Harris, and Robinson, for the period of January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023, with the public.
The public meeting was held remotely through the Microsoft Teams application. Additionally, a call-only telephone bridge line was available. The following documents related to the meeting are available in ADAMS: 04/23/2024 Duke Sites Annual Assessment Meeting (ML24101A409),

The meeting was scheduled for 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time. There were 48 attendees, which consisted of representatives from the NRC, Duke Energy, and members of the public. Due to the nature of the meeting, no official list of attendees was recorded. NRC staff were available for questions at the conclusion of the presentation. There was minimal interaction with the public, consistent with the normal meetings conducted near the stations.
The meeting was listed in the Public Meeting Feedback System under Meeting Code 20240492 and as of the date of this memo, there were no feedback responses to the meeting.
