REVIEW OF CHANGES TO THE QUALITY ASSURANCE PROCRAM DESCRIPTION FOR PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 (TAC NOS. M98788 AND M98789)

==Dear Mr. Hunger:==

By {{letter dated|date=February 24, 1997|text=letter dated February 24, 1997}}, PECO Energy Company (PECO) transmitted a proposed revision to Revision 13 of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Quality Assurance Program Description in accordance with 50.54(a). This revision identifies an alternative to previously approved provisions for lead auditor qualifications.
The staff has reviewed the submittal in accordance with 50.54(a) and determined that the change to the quality assurance program is acceptable in that the quality assurance program continues to meet the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 and meets the additional requirements of 50.34(b)(6)(ii) by discussing how the applicable requirements of Appendix B will be satisfied. The effectiveness of PEC0's quality assurance program implementation will continue to be the subject of routine NRC inspections. The staff's safety evaluation is provided in the enclosure to this letter.
If there are changes to other previously agreed to and docketed commitments outside the quality assurance program description, PECO is obligated to revise those commitments in accordance with the governing change control process and notify the NRC as appropriate.
