Enclosed please find fifty (50) copies of a si n ry report entitled " Report on Containment Build'ing Ring Girder Construction and Repair". This report was prepared as a result of a meeting on this subject held with members of your staff on November 3,1971.

The report describes an unsatisfactory condition that resulted during fabrication of the Containment Building ring girder for Unit 1 of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station.
The report describes an unsatisfactory condition that resulted during fabrication of the Containment Building ring girder for Unit 1 of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station.                                     It also sets forth the corrective action that is being taken and presents an analysis that shows that the final installation will meet the original design criteria for the ring girder.
