Dear Sirs:
Enclosed are the revised pages associated with Update 3 of the Post-Defueling Monitored Storage Safety Analysis Report (PDMS SAR) for TMI-2. The last revision of the PDMS SAR was issued as Update 2 on August 18,'1997. Update 3 revises the PDMS SAR to reflect the current plant configuration and includes minor editorial changes and corrections. The revised pages are indicated on the list ofeffective pages, which should be kept in the front of the binder coataining the PDMS SAR. Also included are binder sleeves for Update 3.
Significant changes in the TMI-2 plant configuration that are reflected in the PDMS SAR, Update 3 include changes to ventilation interlocks within the fire detection system, disconnection of the paging system within the reactor building (Chapter 7), the deletion of a number of non-radiological, deactivated systems and equipment that have been physically removed from the facility (Chapter 6), and organizational changes that have been made within GPU Nuclear
- (Chapter 10). Seveial other minor changes were made involving plant configuration, latitude designation for the location of TMI, conformance to changes in 10CFR50, and correction of typographical errors. Changes made from Update 2 to Update 3 of the PDMS SAR are identified by bold face type within the document.
