October 19, 1976 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT-- PNS-76-62 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.  !

Facility: Virginia Electric and Power Company North Anna Power Station (song,c:;ciggD Sub$eet: BOMB THREAT A bomb threat was received by the Stone and Webster (construction) switchboard at 2328 hours0.0269 days <br />0.647 hours <br />0.00385 weeks <br />8.85804e-4 months <br /> on 10/15/76. The call was from an adult male and was traced to a payphone in Mineral, Virginia. The caller said "There is a bomb planted there." Search of plant found,no bombs. -

No suspect was identified. All appropriate law enforcement officials were notified.

This is the 15th bomb threat at North Anna this year.

A press release is not planned by the licensee or NRC.
