Firlit letter dated August 4, 1988, same subject Attention: George Kalman The referenced letter requested that we advise you of our efforts to address the issue of initial RTots for the WF-70 wold metal in our reactor vessel. At the meetihg held on August 24, 1988, we presented information relative to the approach the B&W Owners Group intends to pursuo regarding this issue. Mr. Bevan of your staff attended a portion of the presentation. The presentation was well received; however, because the projected conclusions regarding the WF-70 material were based only partially on available data, the NRC could comment on only the approach by which we intend to prove the conclusions.
We are taking the necessary steps to include the project within the B&W O'mors Group near term work scope, and will provide you with an update on the project by January 1, 1989.
