Attention: Mr. James P. O'Reilly Gentlemen:

In our previous correspondence on this subject, Georgia Power Company indicated that the last. vendor evaluation will be completed and an engineering evaluation report would be made available on November 30, 1984.

Based on this schedule, which still appears to be valid, Georgia Power Company still expects to submit a final report on the general concern of this subject to the USNRC by January 18, 1985.

Since our last report on this subject, construction site meetings with the vendors involved have been continuing and substantial progress has been made toward completing our evaluation of this concern.

At this time, only a few additional meetings are required.

These meetings are currently scheduled for the month of October 1984.

As committed in our earlier correspondence, should any of the vendor evaluations conclude that a reportable condition exists, Georgia Power Company will submit a report to the USNRC for that portion of the overall evaluation immediately upon receipt of the information.

This response contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Room upon receipt.
