I DOCKET NOS. 50-325 AND 50-324 i SPECIAL REPORT PER TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 3.7.8a
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On November 11, 1980, a Unit No. 2 fire barrier LCO was generated on two fire
- doors in the Diesel Generator 4-Day tank room area to facilitate routing welding cables used for work required by a plant modification. Due to the complexity of the modification, the required work was not completed before the expiration of the time frame specified in the LCO. A policy has now been established to assure LCO's are cancelled within their time frames. This policy requires that all obstacles that violate the integrity of a fire barrier be removed and the fire barrier restored to normal operability prior to expiration of the LCO. Any additional or uncompleted work requiring the fire barrier being made inoperab y will be re-evaluated and any additional LCO'c will be generated,
, as required.
