M e Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (TM1-1) .>/ %t U Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Operator License Reapplications I would like to confirm previous phone calls and formally request that written and oral re-examinations be administered during the week of April 20,1981, on Three Mile Island - Unit 1 for the following individuals:

William A. Fraser - Reactor Operator License - Unit 1 '

Norman J. Monson - Reactor Operator License - Unit 1 Robert E. Boyer - Senior Reactor Operator License - Unit 1 t. J .9 William A. Fraser started on site in November of 1978 as a Unit 1 Control Room Operator. As a Unit 1 Control Room Operator he has been studying systems and procedures. He has also participated in the day-to-day operation of Unit 1 under the direct supervision of a licensed operator.

Mr. Norman Monson started on site in August 1975 as an Auxiliary "C" Operator. He took part in plant operations as an Auxiliary Operator "C", "B" and "A", until becoming a Unit 1 Control Room Operator in October 1979. As a Control Room Operator he has been studying systems i and procedures. He has also participated in the day-to-day operations

! of Unit 1 under the direct supervision of a licensed operator.

Mr. Robert E. Boyer has been on site since October 1974. He has held l a Reactor Operator license since August 30, 1978 and has exercised his l

license competently and safely operating TMI-1. During the term of

! his license, Robert has satisfactorily participated in the Metropolitan Edison Company Operator Requalification Program. He is currently engaged l in a training program to prepare him for his Senior Operator examination.

Attached to each individual application is a detailed outline of the additional training received by Messrs. Fraser, Monson and Boyer since their previous examination. I feel the above candidates are ready for re-examination at this time.
