Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-416/417 File 0260/15525/15526 PRD-80/27, Final Report Loose Valve Shaft to Actuator Key AECM-80/127 On May 12, 19C0 riississippi Power & Light Company (MPSL) notified Mr. M. Hunt of your of fice of a Potentially Reportable Deficiency (PRD) at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) construction site. The de-ficiency concerns a loose key in Bettis Robot arm actuators installed on Henry Pratt Butterfly valves. We have determined that this defi-ciency is reportable under 10CFR50.55(e) (Units 1 and 2) and 10CFR21 (Unit 1 only).
Messers. W. D. Hays and W. E. Edge of MP&L notified Mr. F. Cantrell of your office by telephone of the reportability under 10CFR21 on June 11, 1980. This notification also confirmed that the reporting time require-ments under 10CFR50.55(e) apply. As Mr. Cantrell requested, we have at-tached a letter we received from Henry Pratt Company to the NRC dated May 1, 1980.
Our final report on this matter is attached for your review. Please note this report with the attached Henry Pratt letter fulfills the re-porting requirements of 10CFR21.21(b)(3).
