. proposed changes to the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) Technical j

Specifications (TS) in accordance with Gencric Letter 87-09.

In that request, SERI described its proposed administrative controls for

-assuring that a written safety evaluation would be performed for each use of i

the new TS 3.0.4 flexibility prior to its use. For descriptive purposes, SERI 1

used plant startup and outage conditions to describe how the new TS 3.0.4 flexibility might be used.

By this letter, SERI confirms the Staff's understanding that a safety evaluation will be written for each use of the new TS 3.0.4 flexibility

-regardless of the plant condition at the time the flexibility is required.

If you require additional information to assist your review of this proposed amendment, please advise.
