Letter from Elinor G. Adensam to Mr. J. B. Richard dated September 18, 1985 Mississippi Power & Light (MP&L) was requested by the referenced letter to notify the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of the effective date of certain technical specification changes.

Amendment 4 changes to the Fire Detection Instrumentation Tahle 3.3.7.9-1.c.16 have been administrative 1y feplemented but could not be made effective in the technical specifications until work was completed to change smoke detectors to flame detectors in the corridor between the diesel generator building and the auxiliary building (Table 3.3.7.9-1.d.1). Both of these fire detection instrumentation changes affect page 3/4 3-87 of the technical specifications. Work has been completed and both changes have been entered in the technical specifications with an effective date of April 4, 1986. With this notification, Amendment 4 has been completely implemented into the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GCNS) Unit 1 Technical Specifications.
