1. Prepare plant for cold weather. This includes assuring the steam and electric heating units are ready for operation and that heat tracing is in service.

2.0 INSTRUCTIONS A. Operations Manager, prior to August 1, ASSIGN this procedure to an OPS management representative or Unit Supervisor for completion by 30 September.

Management representative I B. VERIFY, with the Unit Coordinator, the following subsystems are scheduled for verification of availability prior to 30 September:

Steam Heating Units (Refer To Attachment 1) e Heat Tracing System and Strip Heaters (Refer To Attachment 2)

Electric Heat Units (Refer To Attachment 3)

d C. VERIFY HVS-6 Glycol Replacement PM (Serial # 9498) is scheduled to be performed prior to October 15*.

D. Refer To OP-331, " Plant Heating and Condensate Recovery" and PERFORM the following:

1.) VERIFY Prerequisites are complete 2.) START the Boiler Fuel Forwarding System 3.) To verify operability, SHIFT Boiler Fue: Forwarding Pumps 4.) START the Condensate Return System 5.) START one of the boilers, as directed by the SM/US, and warm up the Steam Heating System.

E. When the Steam Heating System is at normal operatin0 temperature and pressure, PERFORM the following:

. WALKDOWN the Auxiliary Steam and Condensate Recovery System and identify system deficiencies

. VERIFY Steam flow to outside tanks

. VERIFY Steam Flow to Nitrogen Addition Tank F. Refer To OP-331, " Plant Heatirg and Condensate Recovery" and START / SECURE the remaining boilers as necessary to ensure each boiler operates normally.

G. VERIFY the following:

Heat Tracing Systems and Strip Heaters are aligned per Attachment 2.

. Electric Heating Units are aligned per Attachment 3.

H. Refer To Attachments 1,2 & 3 and ENERGlZE the listed equipment.

NOTE Depending on the heater being installed and its location, various permits may be required.

They may include flame permits for the Sullair compressor enclosure and Confined Space Entry Permits for entry into the ESW/ECCS Cross-Tie Valve Pit.

1. VERIFY the following portable heaters are installed and tested:
