1. PURPOSE

.o 1.1 Objective Provide guidance for recommending sampling requirements to the Production Operations Services Laboratory field teams and provide forms ~

! for recording requests and results.

1.2 Discussion RMTs provide the off-site survey information necessary for the plume l phase. POSL sampling is reserved more for the relocation and ingestion pathway phase and, therefore, would typically not be performed until the plume has passed. Thermoluminescent dosimeters and air filters may also provide information to help determine the past integrated dose.

• Tritium NOTE Although lower MDLs are desirable, MDLs for emergency samples are generally specified a factor of ten higher than those for routine samples to account for sample loading at the laboratory.

4.3.1 SEND samples to primary contractor for analysis.
