%I ) ly}n On March 15, Mr. Salman of th Atomic Safety and Licensing Board of Appeals telephoned me to inform me of the filing of Mr. Cherry's Emergency Motion for Directed Certification, and requested that the response of The Dow Chemical Company, if any, be filed with the Board of Appeals by March 18. In response to my question, Mr. Sal man indicated that the Board of Appeals was inviting Dov's response, if any.

Today, Mr. Beckhofer of the Appeals Loard telephoned me and asked for Dow's response, if any, to Mr. Cherry's motion. I stated to Mr. Beckhofer that Dow, without commenting on the allegations contained therein, had no position on Mr. Cherry's Emergency Motion for Directed Certification. This letter is a confir=ation of my conversation with Mr. Beckhofer and constitutes Dow's response to the invitation of the Board of Appeals. Sincerely, o? - L. F. Nute (,.
