Proposed Generic Licensing Topical Report EDR-1 Ederer's Nuclear Safety Related extra-Safety And Monitoring (X-SAM) Cranes, Schedule for Submittal of Requested Additional Information

Dear Mr. Baer:

Our letter of January 15, 1979, requested the NRC's approval of EDR-1 as a generic licensing topical report. Your letter dated April 26, 1979, enclosed a request for additional information and clarifications that are required to complete the NRC Staff's review of EDR-1. Your letter reques-ted that we provide, by May 15, 1979, a sr..adule Ter responding to the request in order that a coordinated schec'ule, for completion of the review of the topical report and use of an X-SAM Crane in the Midland Plant, Urits 1 and 2, can be prepared. The purpose of this letter is to provide the requested schedule.

Replacment pages are being prepareJ to incorporate the requested information and clarifications in the bc dy of the topical report. We expect to submit Ge replacement pages ly June 15, 1979. Depending upon the extent and complaxity of the resulttnt changes, we may want to meet with the NRC Staff, prior to formal subnittal of the replacement pages to verify that we are being responsive to ;he needs of r.he Staff. We expect that, if required, such a meeting would need to be h.ld either the last week of May ar the first week in June, in order to m;intain the June 15, 1979, submittal date.
