3.1 Test conditions must be applied to only Train B. A reactor trip will occur if both trains have a general warning condition.

Therefore, it is extremely important that the doors to only one train at a time are open, 3.2 to preclude the introduction of test conditions into both trainsc Test conditions may be applied to one train using its* . built-in testers, while the opposite train is used to the plant protection and provide data to the demultiplexers.

If in the process of testing, functions are detected, they can be isolated by fully following the procedures in Section 6 of the Solid State Protection Manual. 3.3 This procedure must be completed in the sequence given to insure successful completion

DATE 5/24/82 PAGE 3 OF 50 * * ---TITLE SOLID STATE PROTECTION SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL TEST TRAIN B 4.0 Limitations and Actions: 4.1 If, at any time during the performance of this test, there is any reason to suspect that the test equipment being used may not be performing properly, a comparison check shall be performed with a similar device or the device shall be checked for calibration against a standardo This shall be done prior taking any other corrective action. 4o2 If, during the performance of this test, the "As Found" data does not meet the requirements of the specified accuracy, the Job Supervisor shall be notified immediately

4o3 If, during the performance of this procedure, the required status indication cannot be obtained, the Job Supervisor shall be notified immediately.

Exceptions*

to the required indication, due to plant conditions at the time of the test, may be made by the Job Supervisor.

Release the TEST pushbutton.

Verify that the continuity lamp and the top four LEDS on Al08 light. On the Logic Test Panel, place the Input Error Inhibit switch to the Inhibit position.

Place the MULTIPLEXER TEST switch to the A & B position. Place the BLOCKING FUNCTION TEST switch to the BLOCKS NOT INHIBITED position.

Depress and release the TEST pushbutton.

8.11.8.l Verify that the amber testing lamp lights. 8.11.8.2 In approximately 1.6 seconds, verify that this lamp extinguishes.

  • WARNING: It is necessary that SSPS Train A Mul tip],exer . Switch be in the normal position and that its general warning lamp be off. If the lamp is already on, it is necessary that it be cleared before the A & B position is selected in the *other train. 8.24.1 8.24.2 NOTE: Place Train B Multiplexer Test Switch to the A & B position.

Verify no intermittent condition exists. An intermittent (on/off) condition is when the indication appears at the control board and the computer at approximately one repetition per second. This indicates one of the two trains has a malfunction in its data multiplexing.
