1.0 Purpose

1.1 The purpose of this procedure is to verify the operability _

of Solid State Protection System Train A.

3.0 Precautions

3.1 Test conditions must be applied to only Train A.

A reactor t~ip will occur if both trains have a general warning condition.

Therefore, it is extremely important that the doors to only one train at a time are open, to preclude the introduction of test c6nditions into both trains.

3.2 Test conditions may be applied to one train using its built-in testers, while tne opp0site train is used to maintain the plant protection and provide data to the demultiplexers.

If in the process of testing, mal-functions are detected, they can be isolated by care-fully following the procedures in Section 6 of th~

Solid State Protection Manual.

3.3 This procedure must be completed in the sequence given to insure successful completion.

4.1 If, at any time during the performance of this test, there is any reason to suspect_ that the test equipment being used may not be performing properly, a comparison check shall be performed with a similar device or the device shall be checked*for calibration against a standard.

This shall be done prior to taking any 4.2 other corrective action.

If, during the performance of this test, the "As Found" data does no~ meet the requirements of the specified accuracy, the Job Supervisor shall be notified immediately and PD-14.1.001 shall be performed.

4. 3 If, during the _.,performance of this procedur~, the required status indication cannot be obtained, the Job Supervisor shall be notified immediately.

Exceptions to the required indication, due to plant conditions at the time of the test, may be made by the' Job Supervisor.

Any exceptions of this nature must be indicated and explained in the Remarks section of this procedure.

4.4 An entry will be made in the Remarks section of this procedure indicating any deficiency and the corrective action taken.

6.1 The individual assigned to perform this procedure is qualified to do so in accordance with Solid State Protection System Qualification Card 2.6.

The GOOD Lamp will extinguish the next time the TEST pushbutton is depressed.

Place the Blocking Function Test Switch to the opposite position and repeat Steps 8.15.2 and 8.15.3.

Using Table I, perform Step 8.15.2 through 8.15.4 for the positions of the logic and permissive switches as listed.
