MAR 06 '93 16819 HRC OFFICE HOPE CREEK P03 PROTECIlON TECHNOIDGY NUCLEAR MREWATCII OPERATING PROCEDURE 1.0 PURPOSE This proc 9 dure establishes the proper format for accurate time keeping when performing firewatch roves at the Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations in Hancocks, NJ.

2.0 SCOPEt This procedure sets forth the requirements necessary to maintain accurate times of reving and constant patrols of the Firewatch and will provide an accurate record of required patrol as required. This procedure applies to all Firewatch 1

personnel.

3.0 REFERENCES

4.0 RESIDM8IBILITIES

4.1 Management staff The Firewatch Management staff will enforce the compliance of this procedure with the supervisory personnel of PTI Firewatch. Their duties will include:

4.1.1 The Program Manager will perform a random audit of time sheets (Form NFW-OP-001-1 ) and also will conduct certain aspects of the required training in the use of the time sheets if deemed necessary. After he/she has randomly reviewed the time sheets, he/she will then sign & date the form (s).

4.1.2 The Project Manager will assume the same duties as outlined in 4.1.1 in the event of the Program Managers absence or if additional training assistance is required.

4.2.1 The Firewatch Supervisory staff will enforce the proper use of the tirawatch time sheets and ensure that the rove recorded is within the required time frame allotted for that post / rove as outlined in this procedure.

4.2.2 The Firewatch Supervisory staff will establish l

beginning of their assigned shift. This will be accomplished by having all firewatch j

personnel set their time pieces to the office clock prior to departing for their assigned j

tour (s).

4.3 Firewatch Personnel 4.3.1 The firewatch personnel will ensure that they-properly record the exact time that they entered and lef t a required area of patrol and are in the required time frame allotted for that post / rove as outlined in this procedure.

5.0 PROCEDUREI 5.1 All firewatch personnel will set their time pieces to the common clock in the firewatch office. This will be done prior to departing for assigned tour (s),

b.2 The firewatch management, supervisory and firewatch staff, utilizing Form NFW-OP-001-1 (Attachment 1), will conduct the required rove / patrol as stated in the post orders and document the 33mg1 times that an area was entered and left by the firewatch officer on the form as j

required. This procedure is inclusive to both, stations.

5.3 If the firewatch person is unable to enter in an area in the required time frame due to a problem (i.e. Inoperable i

fire door, radiography, etc...)

he/she is to notify his/her Shift Supervisor immediately so arrangements and/or corrective actions can be implemented. An incident report (Attachment 2 Form NFW4P-001-2) is also to be filled out in detail explaining the actions causing problem and actions taken to correct problem.
