RANCHO SEC0 NU' CLEAR GENERATING STATION - REPORT ON " REVIEW 0F RECENT GE0 LOGIC AND SEISM 0 LOGIC INFORMATION PERTINENT TO SEISMIC SAFETY" By letter dated June 25, 1986, we transmitted a copy of a report by Ina B. Alterman of a field trip made to check the fault study presented in your report titled

" Review of Recent Geologic and Seismologic Information Pertinent to Seismic Sa fety." Also enclosed with the letter was a request for additional information to resolve differences between the observations made on the field trip and the SMUD fault study. Following receipt of our request for additional information, your staff verbally requested that we return the U-2 photos sent to us prior to the field trip and clarify question 4 in our request for additional information. By letter (attached) dated July 23, 1986 from Ina B. Alterman to Mr. Tom Crosby of Bechtel, the U-2 photos were returned and clarification to question 4 was provided. Your staff stated that a schedule for responding to the request for additional information will be provided 14 days after they receive the clarification to question 4. The attachment to this letter provides that clarification. Therefore, within 14 days of receipt of this letter please provide us with your schedule for responding to the request for additional information transmitted to you by letter dated June 25, 1986.

The reparting and/or recording keeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents, therefore OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
