HRC Inspection of Rancho Seco This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Messrs. A D'Angelo, C. Myers and P.-Qualls of this office on March 4 through April 21, 1989 and of activities authorized by NRC License No.~ DPR-54, and-to the discussion of our findings held with Mr. Keuter and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and' representative records, interviews with personnel,.and observations by the inspectors.
The inspection determined that your control of the' testing of the "A" main feedwater pump in this period was weak. Lapses of' formality, procedural adherence, and management involvement are detailed in Paragraph 5 of this report. Region V will review your corrective action for these weaknesses in subsequent inspections.
Two non-cited violations of NRC requirements were identified within the scope.
