A. In evaluating the advantages of a cooling pond over a cooling tower, the applicant could have provided additional information. One might want to know the environ =cntal imoact of the clume, drizzlc, ac.d salt condan2ation created by the cooling tower. Although construction of the tower would increase total construction costs by $36,000,000, a rough calculation reveals only a hundredth of a difference between the tuo profitability index numbers.

(There is a possible discrapancy in the applicant's evaluation of the environmental i:.ipact of the pond

'and the tower. On page 115 of the report, the applicant states that both tower and pond constitute significant environmental changes. However, he states that the tower dcas not represent an adverse environ =cntal effect.) .
