Place the MULTIPLEXER TEST switch to the A & B position. Place the BLOCKING FUNCTION TEST switch to the BLOCKS NOT INHIBITED position.

8.16.l    Place MEMORIES switch to position "l".
(The 1/4 function logic lamp will light
* 8.16.2 whenever the MEMORIES switch is not in the OFF position) ..
In the MEMORY FUNCTION TEST portion of the LOGIC TEST PANEL, depress and. release the RED pushbutton and verify that the MEMORY SET lamp lights.    (If already on, depress and release BLACK pushbutton).
8.16.3    After MEMORY SET lamp lights, depress and release BLACK pushbutton.
8.16.4    Repeat Steps 8.16.2 and 8.16.3 for the positions of the MEMORIES switch as listed oh TABLE II .

8.22.1    Select position 9 on the MEMORIES switch and if the MEMORY SET lamp is illuminated, depress the BLACK button to extinguish it .

8.22.3    Connect the Digital Voltmeter as follows:

NOTE:      A DVM indication of 25 VAC or less is considered noise.

3.0 Precautions

3.1 Test conditions must be applied to only Train B. A reactor trip will occur if both trains have a general warning condition. Therefore, it is extremely important that the doors to only one train at a time are open, to preclude the introduction of test conditions into

4.1 If, at any time during the performance of this test, there is any reason to suspect that the test equipment being used may not be performing properly, a comparison check shall be performed with a similar device or the device shall be checked for calibration against a standardo This shall be done prior ~o taking any other corrective action.

4o2 If, during the performance of this test, the "As Found" data does not meet the requirements of the specified accuracy, the Job Supervisor shall be notified immediately

8.8 On the Outpu~ Relay Test Panel, place the Mode Selector Switch in the Test position.

8.9 Verify the Operate Lamp is not lighted.

8.10 Verify the General Warning Lamp is lighted~

8.11 Verify the operation of the Semi-Automatic Tester.

Self-check as follows:

-NOTE-Steps 8.11.6 through 8.11.11 will result in continuous alarms in the Control Room if there are any tripped inputs to the SSPS.

8.11.1 Verify that the continuity lamp is lighted .

  • 8.11.2 On the Tester PC Card (AlOS), verify that the top four LED's (light emitting diodes) are lighted.

On the Logic Test Panel, place the Input Error Inhibit switch to the Inhibit position.

Place the MULTIPLEXER TEST switch to the A & B position.

8.11.7 Place the BLOCKING FUNCTION TEST switch to the BLOCKS NOT INHIBITED position.

Depress and release the TEST pushbutton.

8.11.8.l Verify that the amber testing lamp lights.

8.11.8.2 In approximately 1.6 seconds, verify that this lamp extinguishes.

8.11.8.3 Verify that the GOOD lamp lights.

8.0 Instructions

(Continued) Initial 8.22 Perform the following for SAFETY INJECTION RESET TIMING TEST.

8.22.1 Select position 9 on the MEMORIES switch and if the MEMORY SET lamp is illuminated, depress the BLACK button to extinguish it .

8.22.2 In the OUTPUT TEST cabinet, place test switch 602 in the BLOCK OUT~UT position.

8.22.3 Connect the Digital Voltmeter as follows:

  • TD-1, Terminal 6 (+)

8.22.3.2 Logic Ground (GND) 8.-22.4 The DVM should read approximately +48 VDC.

8.22.5 Move the positive lead of the DVM from TD-1, Terminal 6 to TD-1, Terminal 2.

8.22.6 The DVM should indicate 0 VDC.

8.0 Instructions

(Continued) Initial 8.22.7 Latch-up Relay K602 by depressing the latch plunger and time the interval from this point until the voltmeter reads approximately *+48 VDC. (The time should be 60 to 65 sec.)

Block/Reset pushbutton and verify the following:

8.22.8.1 DVM indicates 0 VDC 8.22.8.2 MEMORY SET lamp lights 8.22.8.3 Relay K602 Resets 8.22.9 Return the MEMORIES switch to the OFF position.

8.22.10 Connect the Digital Voltmeter as follows:

8.22.10.l TD-1, Terminal 6 (+)

    • - 8.22.10.2 IDgic Ground (GND) 8.22.11 The DVM .should read approximately +48 VDC.

(Continued) Initial 8.22.12 Move the positive lead of the DVM to TD-1 Terminal 2 and measure the resistance to gr_ound (GND) . The DVM should indicate an Open.

  • 8.22.13 Connect the Digital Voltmeter (AC Scale) as follows:

8.22.13.l TD-1, Terminal 1 8.22.13.2 TD-1, Terminal 5 8.22.14 The.DVM* should read 0 VAC.

NOTE: A DVM indication of 25 VAC or less is considered noise.

8.22.15 Measure the resi.stance between* TD-1, Terminal 1 and TD-1, Terminal 5. The DVM should indicate an OPEN.

8.22.16 In the output test cabinet, return the test

    • switch 602 to the UNBLOCK outp~t position and verify the TL/TXC Alarm light extinguishes.

8.24.1 Place Train B Multiplexer Test Switch to the A & B position.

8.24.2 Verify no intermittent condition exists.

NOTE: An intermittent (on/off) condition is when the indication appears at the control board and the computer at approximately one repetition per second. This indicates one of the two trains has a malfunction in its data multiplexing.
