RANCHO SEC0 NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION (TAC NO. 63461)

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.111to Facility Operating -

License No. DPR-54 for the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station. This  ;

amendment consists of changes to the License in response to your application transmitted by letter dated January 16, 1986.

This amendment revises Section 2.C.(4) of the License to remove the require-ments f:r certain fire doors and dampers described in the Safety Evaluation referenced in Sectioa 2.C.(4). The issuance of this amendment is based on the re-evaluation of fire areas in the 1985 Rancho Seco Updated Fire Hazards Analysis (UFHA).

By letter dated December 2, 1986, Sacramento Municipal Utility District  !

submitted a revision to the UFHA and a response to a request for additional i information by letters dated September 22, 1987 and September 16, 1988. Our  ;

consultant, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), has evaluated this information including the January 16, 1986 request for a license amendment. SAIC's Technical Evaluation Report (TER), dated . November 3, ]

1988, is enclosed. We adopt the evaluation and conclusions of the TER. i A copy of our Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. Notice of Issuance will be J included in the Commission's bi-weekly Federal Register notice.
