This refers to the Enforcement Confarence conducted by telephone conference call on September 30, 1988, with you and other members of your staff, Region IV, and Office of Enforcement personnel. This conference regarded the findings of an NRC Office of Investigations (01) investigation concerning improper fire watches as documented in NRC. Investigation Report No. 4-88-004 dated April 15, 1988, and an apparent violation regarding a failure to include appropriate acceptance criteria in closing out a maintenance work request as documented in NRC Inspection Report 50-498/88-46 dated September 2,1988.
The subjects discussed at this conference are described in the enclosed Conference Call Sunnary.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," Part 2 Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
