SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-498/99-08; 50-499/99-08
Dear Mr. Cottle:
This refers to the inspection conducted on May 17 to 21,1999, in the Region IV office and
June 7 to 10,1999, at the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station, Units 1 and 2,
facilities. The purpose of the inspection was to review your corrective action program using the
guidance provided in NRC inspection Procedure 40500 dated March 11,1999. The enclosed
report presents the results of this inspection.
Based upon the results of this inspection, we determined that you implemented a condition
reporting and corrective action program that effectively identified and corrected conditions
adverse to quality with appropriate priorities and timeliness.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them
with you.
