SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-498/99-009; 50-499/99-009
Dear Mr. Cottle:
This refers to the inspection conducted on May 3-6,1999, at the South Texas Project Electric
Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 facilities. The primary focus of the inspection was to review
the operational status of your emergency preparedness program. The enclosed report
presents the results of this inspection.
Our review determined that your program was properly implemented and has been sustained at
a consistently high level of readiness and capability over the last 21 months.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them
with you.
