i New Hampshire House of Representatives P. O. Box 962 Seabrook, New Hampshire 03874 i

In the Matter of PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF NEW HAMPS5'.RE, et- al.

(Seabrook Station, Units 1 and 2)

Docket Nos. 50-443-OL and 50-444-OL (ASLBP No. 82-471-02-OL)

(Offsite Emergency Planning)

Dear Mr. Cushing:

Thank you for your interest in the location of the Seabrook hearings.

The formal hearings into issues admitted by the Board for litigation of the New Hampsnire Radiological Emergency Response Plan are scheduled in the U. S. District Court at Concord, New Hampshire.

The hearings are open to the public. The District Courtroom affords i all the parties reasonable space and comfort to conduct their case without unnecessary physical handicaps, possesses appropriate judicial decorum and is readily accessible to the public in the State Capital.

Where other nonfederal facilities have been used, experience demonstrates that the Board's proceedings are at the discretion of others whose interest may conflict with ours. The only Federal Courthouse for New Hampshire is at Concord for both the District and Court of Appeals.

l Earlier we did explore, in some detail, the area around Seabrook and the seacoast region without success in finding a suitable hearing facility. We appreciate your offer of assistance. However, the Board l in planning for these hearings had to commit to a location and date some time ago.

Sincerel , e f
