Dear Mr. Feigenbaum:

By letter dated March 17,1998, North Atlantic Energy Service Corporation (NAESCO) responded to Generic Letter (GL) 97-05, " Steam Generator Tube Inspection Techniques," for the Seabrook Station, Unit 1 (Seabrook). The focus of the GL was to verify that steam generator tube inspection practices were consistent with existing regulatory requirements and plant licensing bases. NAESCO's response included a description and technical basis for all inspection techniques used to size the depth of steam generator tube degradation at Seabrook.

The staff has completed its review of your response to GL 97-05 and did not identify any concerns with the steam generator tube inspection techniques employed at Seabrook that would indicate that NAESCO is not in compliance with the current licensing basis for this facility.

This completes the staff's review of the subject GL for Seabrook.
