As you are aware the Appeal Board in an order of July 30, 1987, indicated that a " sensible approach" to resolving questions involving the '
adequacy of East Kingston, NH sirens "is to conduct another test during the l coming winter." The Board further instructed the Staff to initiate 1 discussions with counsel for the Seacoast Anti-Pollution League, the applicants, and possibly the Massachusetts Attorney General on the conduct of such a test and to report back by September 1,1987, on the outcome of those discussions.
As I indicated to you on the phone, I am sending you the Seabrook Siren Activation Test Procedure for East Kingston, under which the Public Service Company of New Hampshire plans to conduct the subject test for the appropriate Seabrook emergency alert. Please let me know by August 25, 1987, if you agcee to the test being conducted under this procedure and the date you propose the test be conducted.
