I am writing to complain that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has failed to cite the Seabrook Station nuclear power plant operators for failing to periodically calibrate and establish j
adequate measures to insure that the relay equipment met all required calibration settings prior to 1
installation. I understand that all this has to do with a pump in the system that cools the components necessary to shut down the plant safely in the event of an emergency. I understand that these are problems that go back to construction. This would appear to me to be an ongoing, concerted effort by the plant to avoid adequately addressing safety concems. This is not an isolated incident and should not be glossed over by the NRC.
I was hoping for a new era of NRC regulation, different from when the NRC, under political pressure, rubber-stamped the license in order to bring it on line. I thought in this more modem, enlightened year, safety concems would be treated seriously. Apparently not.
