NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-443/9811
Dear Mr. Feigenbaum:
This refers to the inspection completed on February 7,1998 at the Seabrook Nuclear Power
Station. The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.

The plant was operated safely during the period. The operators performed routine activities
l
Including surveillance testing well. Engineering personnel properly reviewed several technical
issues on safety-related equipment. The security program was inspected during this period, and
i
the inspector determined that you are implementing a security program that effectively protects
against acts of radiological sabotage.
In contrast to the otherwise good performance, the inspectors identified several corrective action
program deficiencies. These issues involved the timeliness of reviews, the effectiveness of
previous corrective actions. Although none of the individual findings resulted in a plant safety
problem, they indicate a need to maintain focus on the corrective action program.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
