NOTICE OF NONCONFORMANCE Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on October 21-23, 1985, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in accordance with NRC requirements and those found in your Quality Assurance Manual.
Criterion XVIII of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 states, in part: "A comprehensive system of planned and periodic audits shall be carried out to verify compliance with all aspects of the quality assurance program and to determine the effectiveness of the program."
Nonconformance with this requirement follows:
A. Section 18.3 of your Quality Assurance Manual states, " Audits are performed on an annual basis."
Contrary to the above, no evidence could be found that required internal audits for calendar year 1983 had been performed.
