yy 1. PURPOSE [

1.1 Objective I

The objective of this procedure is to provide instructions for repairing  ;

Allis-Chalmers model F4Al-416 pump. '

1.2 Discussion  ;

1 This procedure provides guidance for repairing Allis-Chalmers model )

F4Al-416 pump. This pump is a 11 /2 x 1 x 6-inch, back-pullout, type i CSO centrifugal pump with an open-face impeller. l This procedure provides instructior.s for pump overhaul and instructions for replacing the mechanical seal. Overhaul instructions cover pump 3 removal, disassembly, cleaning and inspection, repair, assembly, installation, and operational checkout. Mechanical seal replacement -

instructions cover impeller clearance adjustment, mechanical seal r removal, component inspections, and mechanical seal replacement.

Because the fluid pumped is radioactive waste, care must be given to job  ;

planning and execution to keep exposure to radiation ALARA. l 1

1.3 Applicability l

This procedure applies to PMMS local ID M6-33(PMP),
