Dear Mr. Ahearne:
. As American citizens, we are deeply concerned with decisions affecting our nation's energy supply. In seeking solutions to our energy problems, we must face the fact that there are no risk-free energy resources or technolo-gies. We feel strongly that our nation cannot grow and prosper withcut nu-clear energy; therefore, it is i= perative that we.get on with the task of producing nuclear power whenever possible.
Our nation cannot afford unreasonable delays in developing this pcwer, such as the delay in restarting Three Mile Island Unit Cne. We urge that the.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission place this situation in a realistic perspective and allow the return of TMI-l to service. Unnecessary charges for alternate power are being incurred each day this unit is out of service.
The decisions made during the NRC proceedings will affect us all directly and set precedents for the entire country. We strongly solicit your aupport in helping to shape the course of our count _-"I's future.
