Dear Mr. Hendriei
~
As a significant user of electric power produced by the Metrespolitan Edison Co., York, Pa., we wish to express our concern with the continued shutdown of TMI Unit #1.
The greatly increased cost of power Eroduced by alternate fuel sources has ca'ised this plant's electric bilJ to rise more than $5,000 per month emared to a year ago when TMI #1 was optrational. Even =cre important is the waste of fossile fuels and the further aggravation of this country's foreign oil i= port problem that the 1.2ss of nuclear power generatien creates'.
It f.s essential to the economic well being of this count"f that we make full use of our available nuclear pow r stations as well as continue to expand our nuclea.r powered generating capabu 'ty.
.Se urgency of the need f. r lower cost electric power in this heavy industry area prompts this request for your favorable consideration of an early return to service of TMI Unit #1.
