Docket 50-289SP T;1I - Unit #1 MiddleTown, PA TMI Unit #1 has been modified to the latest directives and yet it still sits idle. Why? Governmental Bureacracy, inept officials, redundancy and capitulation.
American Pioneer's were a unique breed. Always roving, probing, proving, settling, improving, resourceful and daring.
When will the NRC join the American Republic?
We have re-designed, re-evaluated and re-tested all of the identified l
design and structural faults and/or defects uncovered by T!1I Unit #2's i
accident.
03 Why further delay?
With Iraq and Iran fighting with each other. US oil storage reserves 3
l dropping in quantity, daily. The rise'of oil prices per barrell on.
the " Spot Market" to over 540 a barreli.
These are signs of imminent g O da~.er.
Without oil, American's need fuel resoures. Canada's recent talks re-garding intended rising natural gas prices all indicate the winter of 80-81 will be another American belt tightening expansive proposition.

~ TMI - Unit #1 will ease both the Central Pennsylvania public's burden and that of the utility in providing economical. electric power.
Let's not make TMI another Lockheed or Chrysler-help the utility earn some money to speed recovery of TMI Unit #2.
