Dear Mr. Smith:
I will not be able to attend the public meeting of the ASLB on March 5, 1981 in Harrisburg, PA..
I would, however, like to make my opinion known to your board by means of this communi-cation.
In my position as Vice President of Energy for General Battery Corporation I also express the views of my Corporation.
Please consider our request for the immediate, safe, restart of TMI Unit-1.
This unit always operated satisfactorily (prie:-
to the order that it be shut down. Other similar units "W) continue to operate safely across the nation. Two years is more than adequate time to detennine the capability of TMI one.
Neither GBC nor its employees can afford to co..tinue paying the unnecessary penalty imposed upon us by the forced idleness of TMI one.
The approval of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board is urgently needed and we request that it be granted without delay.
Sincerely, GENERAL BATTERY CORPORATION l
