Secretary of the Cormiission United States Nuclear Regulatory Comission Washington, DC 20555 Attn: Decketing and Service Section Gentlemen:
i Re:
Docket No. 50-289 In the Matter of Metr.opolitan Edison Company Three Mile Island Nuclear Staticn, Unit #1 As a citizen of the area served by Metropolitan Edison Company and one who resides within 20 miles of the Three Mile Island tjuclear Station, I would like to go on record concerning the reopening and operation of Unit il of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station (TMI-1).
From all the data available to me, it would appear to be unwarranted to continue the order to Metropolitan Edison Company to maintain TMI-1 in a cold shutdcwn condition.
It does not appear to represent a F Iard
- c tne public to initiate operation of TMI-1.
It further3ppears that tnere is economic advantage to the area and to the citizens of the area to have TMI-1 in full operation. Any cost / benefit analysis would have to conclude that the best interests of the residents of the area are served by imediately placing TMI-1 into operation.
I would urge the Commission to rescind their order and allow TMI-1 to start up and reach full power operation.
Sincerely, 5UELL EMISSION CCNTROL DIVISION ENVIR0 TECH CORPORATION m34l&
