Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-416 and 50-417 File 0260/L-401.0/L-860.0 Status of Evaluation for IE Bulletin 81-02 Ref: AECM-81/238 AECM-81/337 The evaluation performed by Mississippi Power & Light Company for IE Bulletin No. 81-02, " Failure of Gate Type Valves to Close Against Differential Pressure", has not identified any of the affected valves as installed, yet to be installed, or being maintained as spares in the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

We have completed our investigation and found no application of the subject valves at Grand Gulf. Therefore, we are planning no further action in conjunction with IE Bulletin 81-02.
