Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 0-41 l an 0-417 File 0262/0472 L-860.0/L- 01.0 Status of Evaluation Concerning IE Bulletin 80-23

Reference:

AECM-81/65 AECM-81/142 Mississippi Power & Light Company has completed its review and evaluation of IE Bulletin 80-23 for the balance of plant portion of the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station and determined that Valcor solenoid valves having P/N's V70900-21-1 or -3 are not installed or planned to be used to perform any safety-related functions in this portion of the plant.

It is requested that Mississippi Power & Light Company be granted an additional sixty day extension for completion of the IE Bulletin 80-23 review and evaluation of the NSSS portion of Grand Gulf Nuclear Station so that General Electric can obtain responses from their suppliers to determine if Valcor solenoid valves having P/N's V70900-21-1 or -3 were used in their scope of supply. At that time, we will complete our response concerning IE Bulletin 80-23. Should you have any further questions regarding this matter, please advise.
