Dear Sir:

Pursuant to IE Bulletin No. 79-02, Revision No. 1 (dated June 21, 1979) concerning Seismic Category 1 piping system base plates which use concrete expansion bolts, we have performed extensive analyses, conducted a field inspection and testing program and reviewed relevant documentation.

This effort has formed the basis for our conclusion that the operability of the Trojan Plant Seismic Category 1 piping systems is assured. However, we do not expect to have all of the information responsive to the Bulletin items assembled in a-formal response by the due date of July 6.

We do expect to file our response during the week of July 9, 1979.

Sincerely, fJ
