Enclosed is a letter, dated July 6, 1979, from C. Goodwin, Jr. of Portland General Electric Company to R. H. Engelken, Director of Region V of the NRC's Office of Inspection and Enforcement.
The letter relates to PGE's response to IE Bulletin No. 79-02, March 8,1979, which concerns pipe support base plate designs using con-crete expansion anchor bolts and which was forwarded to you and the parties in the referenced proceeding on March 21, 1979.
While this matter is unrelated to the Control Building design deficiencies, the Staff did inform this Licensing Board of the matter in a letter dated October 19, 1978 and the matter was discussed briefly at the December 14, 1978 hearing ses-sion on Trojan interim operation (Tr. 2966-68).
The enclosed letter is being forwarded in order to keep you fully informed of the continuing activities related to this matter as we indicated we would do in the October 19, 1978 letter.
