additional information dated May-28, 1993, December 20, 1993, December 23, 1993, May 18, 1994, June 22, 1994, September 19, 1994, November 17, 1994, January 10, '

i 1995, and October 25, 1995, in regard to fire barriers installed at LaSalle,  ;

Units 1 and 2.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has reviewed your letters.

Your responses stated that LaSalle County Station intended to replace all existing Thermo-Lag materials with an acceptable replacement material (Darmatt KM-1) by January 31, 1994. By letter dated January 17, 1997, you stated that ell corrective actions for the resolution of the Thermo-Lag issues had been implemented at LaSalle. On the basis of its review, the staff has determined that you have provided the information requested in GL 92-08 and the actions tracked by TAC Nos. M85563 and M85564 are complete.

Based on your June 2, 1995, and December 22, 1995, responses, however, there remain open issues involving ampacity derating of Darmatt KM-1 which emerged as ,

a result of the GL 92-08 review. The resolution of these ampacity derating issues is being treated generically and tracked by TAC No. M82809.

You should retain all documentation related to the resolution of the concerns with Thermo-Lag 330-1 fire barrier systems for future NRC audits or inspections.
