Dear Dr. Asmussen:
l In accordance with your application dated August 23, 1996, and pursuant to i Part 70 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Materials License :
SNM-696 is hereby amended to delete certain laboratories as places of !
authorized use of licensed materials. !
We have reviewed your August 23 request to remove the Group 8B Laboratories !
from your license for unrestricted use along with reviewing the report entitled, " Decontamination of Selected General Atomics' Science Laboratories for Release to Unrestricted Use (Group 88)." Our review has determined that ;
there is reasonable assurance that the release of the Group 8B laboratories for unrestricted use will not adversely affect public health and safety or the environment.
Accordingly, pursuant to Part 70 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Materials License SNM-696 is hereby amended to allow the unrestricted use of the Group 8B laboratories and Safety License Condition S-1 has been revised to include the date of August 23, 1996.
If, in the future, you desire to use licensed materials and conduct licensed activities in these facilities you must submit an application.
Safety License Condition S-23 has also been revised to correct a computerized typing error which resulted in an incorrect paragraph being inserted in your license in Amendment 37. The correct license condition reads as follows:
S-23 The licensee shall maintain and execute the response measures described in the Emergency Plan dated August 1995 (letter dated August 30, 1995), and as revised by letter dated June 6, 1996, with pages dated May 1996; or as furthcr revised by the licensee consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 70.32(i).
