REQUEST TO RELEASE BUILDING 27 (EA-1) AND BUILDING 21 UNAFFECTED AREAS FOR UNRESTRICTED USE (TAC NO. L31131)

Dear Dr. Asmussen:

1 In accordance with your application dated November 2,1998, and pursuant to Part 70 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Material License SNM-696 is hereby amended to delete Building 27(EA-1) and Building 21 unaffected areas from your license as a place of authorized use of licensed materials.

We have reviewed your November 2,1998, request and the submitted reports titled,

Radiological Survey Performed at GA Bldg 21 UnaMected Office Areas." Our review has determined that there is reasonable assurance that the release of Building 27 (EA-1) and Building 21 unaffected areas for unrestricted use will not adversely affect public health and safety or the environment.

Accordingly, Safety License Condition S-1 has been revised to include the date of November 2,1998. All other conditions of this license shall remain the same. If, in the future, you desire to use licensed materials and conduct licensed activities in these facilities you must request an amendment to your license.

5 Enclosed are copies of the Material License SNM-696 and Hie Safpty Evaluation Report, which includes the Categorical Exclusion determination.
