BUILDING 2 LABORATORIES - GROUP 10, REQUEST FOR RELEASE FOR UNRESTRICTED USE (TAC NO. L31103)

Dear Dr. Asmussen:

In accordance with your application dated August 14,1998, and pursuant to Part 70 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Materials License SNM-696 is hereby amended to delete Building 2 Laboratoiies - Group 10 from your license as a place of authorized use of licensed materials.

We have reviewed your August 14,1998, request to remove Building 2 Laboratories - Group 10 from your license and release it for unrestricted use, along with reviewing the report entitled,

" Final Radiological Surveys of Selected Building 2 Laboratories for Release to Unrestricted Use Group 10," dated August 13,1998. Our review has determined that there is reasonable assurance that the release of Building 2 Laboratories - Group 10 for unrestricted use will not j

adversely affect public health and safety or the environment.

Accordingly, Safety License Condition S-1 has been revised to include the date of August 14, 1998. All other conditions of this license shall remain the same.

i If, in the future, you desire to use licensed materials and conduct licensed activities in these facilities you must request and receive an amendment to your license.

1 Enclosed are copies of the Materials License SNM-696 and the Safety Evaluation Report, which includes the Categorical Exclusion determination.
